Initially conceived as a standard square table, an interesting question came up, what if two sides are removed to make a rectangular table?

The answer was to modify the two sides with unique bevelled inner flanges that are 45 degree cut and held together by three super strong load bearing Kempas skids meant for hoisting steel plates. Accurately positioned dowels secured by Titebond®III, and clamped for a full 24 hours to ensure that material strength enhances structural integrity. Surfaces are then meticulously hand-planed, sanded down, chemical treated and lacquered with water based, waterproof, UV resistant wood stain, and if that's not enough, 2 layers of polyurethane finish is then evenly sprayed, sealing its fate in a super hard, satin smooth and water resistant surface.

From an aerial view, 2 large 2" grooves hold a custom manufactured 8mm thick 2'x2' tempered glass in place while 12mm precision bored holes secure six anti-slip silicone pads to prevent unintended movement, and provides additional peace of mind. On the underside, custom ambient lighting is fitted and wires run across the structure for a perfectly clean, minimalist, industrial chic look.
